Does art just have to be random? and design functional?
Is an ad about Diet Coke more useful than someone playing a dig down at Circular Quay? Just a question to consider. If we answer Coke is less value than a display or indigenous culture then where does that leave us with how do we value art and design? On what basis do we make a judgement?: maybe on the basis of functionality? or its ease of readability or decodability?
Maybe we need to stop talking hi art vs lo art. Don't really feel its a valid way of looking at things. Too binary - good bad etc.
Have a look at somazone art or design or both?
or this one? art or design? manifesta
or this one (takes a while to load): cross project
