4:44 theory art & design

Art and design are two quite different concepts when it comes to
the internet. Art, even in the real world, is where an artist uses a
medium to portray a certain idea or concept to an audience. These
ideas are commonly non-commercial and comment on a specific
issue or thought. Design, on the other hand, generally deals with
the commercial side of the internet or conveying information to a
specific target audience. Design sites include portfolios, ecommerce
websites and reference websites.
Often there is a mix between the two, with artistic ideas being
portrayed through the art or text used on a website; while the
website itself is informative. For example, a portfolio site would use
design to provide examples of the persons work while the graphics
on a website might promote a specific artistic theme or idea.
444theory.com is a website made by Miltos Manetas; an artist who
works in both computer-aided and physical mediums. The website
represents the artist’s thoughts on the “4:44 theory”. 444THEORY.COM
